Cynthia Terry

IAC Advisor

Cynthia Terry is a distinguished retired music educator, arts administrator, mentor, and advocate with 38 years of service in public education. She brings a wealth of experience in arts education, curriculum development, teacher leadership, arts integration, and program administration to her role as an Advisor for Integrative Arts Creations (IAC).

Mrs. Terry spent 29 years as a public-school music educator, including 27 years with Atlanta Public Schools (APS) and two years in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Following her classroom career, she served an additional nine years in arts administration with Atlanta Public Schools, including leadership as Director of Fine and Performing Arts. She retired from APS in 2011.

Throughout her career, Mrs. Terry championed high-quality arts instruction and meaningful professional development for educators. Her leadership supported music, visual arts, theater, dance, curriculum development, and arts integration initiatives across the district. She also played an important role in the development of artsAPS, an initiative created to strengthen arts education and professional learning.

As an IAC Advisor, Mrs. Terry contributes her extensive knowledge, leadership experience, and passion for arts education to support the organization's commitment to using the arts as integrative tools for learning, creativity, personal growth, and community engagement.
