Dr. Marcy Thurmond is an award-winning educator, college lecturer, arts integration specialist, author, speaker, creative strategist, and nonprofit leader with more than 30 years of experience. As Founder and Executive Director of Integrative Arts Creations, Inc., she connects education, the arts, leadership, and innovation to inspire personal growth, strengthen communities, and create transformational learning experiences.

A three-time Teacher of the Year and Excellence in Teaching Award recipient, Dr. Thurmond is recognized for her leadership in arts integration and instructional innovation.  She prepares future educators, mentors emerging professionals, and equips schools and organizations with creative strategies that promote collaboration, critical thinking, communication, and cultural understanding.

Dr. Thurmond is the author of What’s the Cake?  Teaching Music Across the Curriculum Can Be a Piece of Cake and the founder of Dr. Marcy’s Connections, LLC.  She also hosts The Connecting Point with Dr. Marcy and Hidden Gems Exposed with Dr. Marcy, platforms that highlight inspiring stories and connect people with purpose.

She holds degrees in music, curriculum and instruction, and teacher leadership from Morris Brown College, Coppin State University, and Walden University.  Guided by faith and service, Dr. Thurmond continues to champion the transformative power of education, creativity, and the arts.
